María Vargas-Pion earned a National Emmy Award as part of the Noticias Telemundo team under the category of Outstanding Newscast or News Magazine in Spanish at the 42nd News & Documentary Awards ceremony celebrated virtually in September 2021 by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Vargas-Pion received the Emmy at her home in December 2021.
